a: In case 2, the injection in the internal jugular shows a hypoplastic right sinus (arrowhead). Compare with the normal sinus in figure 6. b: Injection into contralateral petrosal sinus (arrowhead) confirms small size of the right sinus (open arrowhead), but the flow in the sinus is still antegrade. If flow is not present, sampling from that sinus can produce false negative result, missing an ACTH secreting adenoma on that side.
